LAUNDRY FAST

LaundryFast is a flexible and modular system specially developed to meet the needs of laundries, R.S.A. (Social care residences), retirement homes, small and large Communities in the management of laundry services, both inside and outside the facility.

THE RFID SOLUTION FOR TRACKING GARMENTS IN LAUNDRIES.

THE TAG

A RFID tag is made up of a microchip that holds data and an antenna. The microchip data includes an internally-stored, universal and univocal code. Just for this application, the Tag is a 16mm diameter disk (or button), easily to apply on all types of garment. The Tag is a passive component and is generated by the reader when it comes within the RF field. The Tag can resist the chemical agents and the mechanical/thermal stress of the washing process.

INCOMING MATERIALS MANAGEMENT

Thanks to the motorised reading tunnel, it is possible to simultaneously identify all of the soiled items in the sacks. This way a complete list of all the incoming items is generated. This also enables the laundry to know the exact workload for that given day, and most importantly, to have a confirmation report of all material received in case of disputes.

MATERIALS SORTING VIA TUNNEL

Another important function of the reading tunnel is the automatic subdivision of garments. Soiled items can be sorted by colour, fabric, type etc. while those already laundered can be sorted by retirement home, facility, owner, etc. All this happens by installing a RFID antenna integrated with an air-operated sorting/metering machine, provided with 4 o 5 outlets where the filling trolleys are to be placed.

LAUNDRY FOLDING SHELVING

The RFID shelving is made up of 30 interchangeable holders and is automatically managed by the software application; the network interface makes the system easily to expand. Thanks to the interface with the software, the shelving automatically presents the operator with the correct cell to put the various garments in.

TRACEABILITY IN WARDS

Thanks to a small easy-to-use portable reader, the size of a packet of cigarettes, the user only has to swipe the tagged item near the reader in order to display the name and surname of the owner, ward and the room. The reader is powered by a standard 9V battery; the main difference with other analogous systems is that the data is stored inside the tag, not the reader.

THE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

The management software is easy to use and each procedure is assigned a colour, in order to make the operation more intuitive.
Furthermore, it is fully modular; thanks to the database, it is possible to create reports to check production progress at any time.

THE SYSTEM

By using RFID Transponders, named TAGs, applied to each item, the system stores all data that helps accurately track the item in the sorting phases. FasThink manufactures and customises the TAGs according to customer requirements; the software solution is developed and implemented by the internal technical staff, constantly guaranteeing appropriate support to the customer at the installation and assistance stages.

Thanks to LaundryFast, each guests garments are uniquely identified, with zero margin for error. The easy to use computerised management of all clothing reduces operational costs, thereby allowing the laundry to apply a charge based not on the weight, but on the number of garments actually washed. LaundryFast offers a high added value, so each facility can improve its own management and service quality level.

ADVANTAGES OF LAUNDRYFAST SOLUTION

  • Identifying the items automatically giving greatly reduced sorting times during the laundry process as well as during receipt of items at the various facilities.
  • Entering additional information in the tag: number of washes, type of wash, references and guest ward.
  • Using a laundry tariffs not based on the weight but on the number of items actually washed, giving huge cost savings to the facility.
  • Safeguarding data privacy.
  • Preventing any items being lost.
  • Ensuring that item washing or changing cannot be forgotten.
  • Checking of the number and quality of washes an item has undergone, thereby programming its state of wear and tear.
