PASSIVE UHF RFID SENSORS FOR HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURE

With an increasingly accurate selection of the antenna of choice for IC RFID, the SENSOR TAG and INLAY product family has been designed and made by Smartrac using state of the art passive RFID technology. This offers great flexibility and precision in detecting temperature, pressure and humidity in industrial, medical and pharmaceutical applications, plus many other areas.
The passive UHF RFID sensors are based on chips from the RF MicronsMagnus family.

These innovative sensors perform excellently and are the perfect choice when accurate reading of the parameters of temperature and humidity are crucial requirements.
The design of their particular antenna acts as a resistant/inductive/capacitant circuit (RLC), enabling the antenna to detect parameters in its environment.

The antenna converts the parameters detected as a variation of impedance and the sensor chip converts this data into code.

These single-chip inlay sensors are particularly economical and easy to use; they can work on a variety of materials, from textile to metallic surfaces or even on building materials.
They can substitute active or semi-active transponder devices should these have been unsatisfactory, and they are in line with the regulatory standards ISO 18000-6C EPC Class 1 Gen 2 v.2.0.0.
