Augmented Reality

By augmented reality or “AR”, we mean the enrichment of human sensory perception using information, which has usually been manipulated or managed electronically.
The elements that “augment” reality can be added via a mobile device, like a smartphone, or tablet equipped with a webcam or other sensors, with visual devices (such as glasses that project onto the retina), aurally (through headphones) and by touch or gesture (gloves). These items add multimedia information to the everyday reality normally perceived. The “added” information can even consist of a decrease in the quantity of sensory information a person usually perceives, in order to make a situation clearer or more useful or fun. This too is AR. In AR the user keeps on experiencing the normal physical realty, but also receives information, which adds to or manipulates that reality. In an industrial context, AR can help improve logistical processes or maintenance management.

Augmented reality applied to logistics

Our solutions for the logistics sector guide the operator to the correct location for positioning or retrieving material in real time. With the help of a tablet or smartglass, the data for moving materials is shown on screen and the operator can interact with the CMS in real time.

It is a single solution that integrates warehouse asset management with the individual identification of an object by recognising the image.

With the help of a digital video camera or any mobile device such as a tablet, the system is able to use its sophisticated algorithms to recognise each individual asset, and provide the operator with the data required to move and place it correctly.

Our solution reduces the risks derived from delays in the manufacturing process. Our dedicated software application ensures accurate management of information, communicating operation progress status updates to the IT system in real time.

Augmented reality in maintenance management

In maintenance management, augmented reality can directly support the operator during maintenance services, improving the speed and accuracy of the tasks carried out.

Our solution shares real time data between the operator and the IT system. This makes the system simpler and more efficient thanks to the automatic recognition of the object needing maintenance, so there is no need to consult instruction manuals, and immediately telling the operator the outcome of the operation carried out.
